The Platform

Three technologies, one elegant device.

Alma Hybrid is one of the most advanced resurfacing platforms available today. Inside a single applicator, it carries three essential technologies: a fractional 10,600nm CO₂ laser for ablative surface resurfacing, a 1570nm non-ablative laser for deep thermal collagen remodeling, and IMPACT™ ultrasound trans-epidermal delivery for driving cosmeceuticals into the deeper layers.

The proprietary HyGrid™ technology is what makes it remarkable. It lets us program the precise ratio of ablative to non-ablative energy in a custom matrix of micro-dots — calibrated to your skin type, your specific concerns, and the recovery time you can accommodate. The same device that resurfaces sun-damaged skin can also deliver a lunch-time refresh, simply by changing the ratio.

For most patients, one to three sessions deliver long-lasting rejuvenation that earlier-generation lasers could not match in a single platform.

The Treatments

Three signature Alma Hybrid protocols.

From a no-downtime refresh to deep transformative resurfacing, Alma Hybrid offers structured treatment protocols designed in collaboration with leading dermatologists — each calibrated to a different stage of skin and recovery preference.

Entry-Level

Pixel Peel

Refining surface introduction

A lighter, entry-level resurfacing treatment that introduces patients to fractional laser. Pixel Peel addresses texture, mild pigmentation, and dullness with a gentler ablative pattern — ideal for first-time patients or those who want progressive results across a series.

SoftLift

Tone, lines, virtually no downtime

A non-ablative treatment using primarily the 1570nm wavelength to deliver a significant thermal effect with virtually no surface downtime. SoftLift refines tone, softens fine lines, and treats acne scars without disrupting your week — the genuine “lunch-time” rejuvenation.

DowntimeNone to minimal

Transformative

HyGrid Resurfacing

Full dual-wavelength rejuvenation

The signature Hybrid experience: ablative CO₂ and non-ablative 1570nm fire side-by-side in a custom HyGrid matrix, often finished with IMPACT ultrasound delivery. The most transformative single-session option for deep lines, scarring, and significant sun damage.

Why It Works

What sets Alma Hybrid apart from a standard CO₂ laser.

01

Dual wavelengths in one pass

The CO₂ (10,600nm) resurfaces and the 1570nm remodels deeper collagen — simultaneously, in a single side-by-side fractional matrix. Traditional CO₂ lasers only address the surface.

02

HyGrid™ ratio customization

The proprietary HyGrid technology lets us program the precise ablative-to-non-ablative ratio in the matrix of micro-dots — calibrated to your skin type, indication, and the recovery time you can accommodate.

03

IMPACT™ trans-epidermal delivery

The integrated ultrasound module drives serums and cosmeceuticals through the freshly-treated micro-channels into the deeper layers, dramatically enhancing the result of the laser pass.

04

Safe across skin types

Because the 1570nm non-ablative wavelength does not damage the surface epidermis, Alma Hybrid is considered safe and effective for a wider range of skin tones than older single-wavelength CO₂ systems — with protocols available across Fitzpatrick types.

The Experience

From consultation to glow.

An unhurried three-part journey — designed so you know exactly what to expect before, during, and after your Hybrid treatment at Sanctuary Laser.

I · CONSULTATION

Mapping your skin.

A 30-minute visit with Dr. Suzuki. We assess your skin type, photograph your areas of concern, review your medications and recent skincare, and determine which protocol — Pixel Peel, SoftLift, or full HyGrid Resurfacing — best fits your goals and your calendar.

II · THE SESSION

Comfort-first treatment.

For protocols using the CO₂, a topical numbing cream is applied for thirty minutes. The cooled applicator tip protects the surface during 1570nm passes. The treatment itself runs twenty to forty-five minutes depending on areas, and most patients describe it as comfortable, with brief snaps of warmth.

III · RECOVERY

Calibrated downtime.

Recovery depends on the protocol chosen. SoftLift has virtually no downtime. Pixel Peel runs two to three days of mild pink. HyGrid Resurfacing involves five to seven days of measured peeling, followed by deeper collagen remodeling that continues for ninety days — with final results photographed at week twelve.

Indications

Skin concerns Alma Hybrid addresses.

FDA-cleared for skin rejuvenation, resurfacing, and scar treatment, Alma Hybrid is one of the most versatile platforms in aesthetic medicine. The combination of CO₂, 1570nm, and IMPACT means we can address tone and texture in the same visit — rather than spreading work across multiple procedures.

Candidacy

Is Alma Hybrid right for you?

Hybrid is a powerful, customizable platform — and the right protocol depends on your skin and your goals. Here is how we think about candidacy.

A strong fit

  • Visible sun damage, age spots, or uneven tone
  • Fine to moderate lines and crepey texture
  • Atrophic acne scarring, surgical scars, or stretch marks
  • Early skin laxity and texture changes
  • Periorbital aging (clinically studied indication)
  • Willing to follow pre- and post-treatment protocols

Worth waiting

  • Active acne breakouts or skin infection
  • Recent sun exposure or active tan
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Use of isotretinoin within six months
  • Cannot avoid sun for 4–6 weeks post-treatment
The Location

Ten minutes from downtown Princeton.

Sanctuary Laser sits at 215 N Main Street in Pennington — roughly ten minutes from Nassau Street and Palmer Square via Route 206 South, or fifteen minutes via Rosedale Road and Blackwell. For patients coming from the Princeton campus area, the drive is often faster than crossing town during rush hour, with none of the parking scramble.

The clinic is easy to find. Turn right onto North Main from Route 31, and Sanctuary Laser is on your left, tucked into a historic building at the north end of downtown Pennington. Free parking is available in the lot immediately adjacent to the building — no meters, no permits, no walking blocks. For Princeton residents used to circling downtown, that alone is worth the drive.

Sanctuary Laser shares a thoughtfully designed space with Sanctuary SMA, our primary and family medicine practice, so aesthetic and medical care are coordinated by clinicians who know your history. The two-story historic building sits alongside a small green, and the treatment rooms overlook it. It's the quietest place to have a laser treatment in the greater Princeton area.

FAQs

Questions, thoughtfully answered.

How many Alma Hybrid sessions will I need?

It depends on the protocol. The signature HyGrid Resurfacing treatment typically delivers substantial improvement in one to two sessions. SoftLift is a series of three to five sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Pixel Peel runs two to three sessions on a similar cadence. Dr. Suzuki maps this out in your consultation with honest expectations.

What is HyGrid technology?

HyGrid™ is Alma’s proprietary technology that lets us program the precise ratio of ablative CO₂ to non-ablative 1570nm energy in a custom matrix of micro-dots. It is what allows a single device to deliver everything from a gentle no-downtime refresh (SoftLift) to a deep transformative resurfacing (HyGrid Resurfacing) — by simply adjusting the ratio for your specific needs.

What is IMPACT™ and is it included?

IMPACT™ is an integrated ultrasound module that drives skincare and cosmeceutical products through the freshly-treated micro-channels into the deeper layers of the skin. It dramatically enhances the result of the laser pass. We include IMPACT in our HyGrid Resurfacing protocol as standard, and offer it as an add-on for other treatments.

How long is the drive from Princeton?

Sanctuary Laser is about ten minutes from downtown Princeton via Route 206 South. From Nassau Street or Palmer Square, take 206 north through Lawrenceville and Pennington will come up on your left after roughly six miles. If you're coming from the Princeton campus area, allow twelve to fifteen minutes at peak times. Free parking is available immediately adjacent to the building. Many of our Princeton patients report the drive is faster than getting across Nassau at 5 PM.

What does the recovery actually look like?

It depends on the protocol. SoftLift has virtually no downtime — patients can return to work immediately. Pixel Peel involves two to three days of mild pinkness. HyGrid Resurfacing involves five to seven days: pink and warm on days one and two, fine sandpapery texture on days three to five, full surface shedding by day seven. Brighter skin emerges underneath, with deeper collagen remodeling continuing for ninety days.

Is it painful?

The CO₂ component is performed after a thirty-minute application of topical numbing cream. The 1570nm component uses a cooled applicator tip that keeps the surface comfortable during energy delivery. With these comfort measures in place, most patients describe the treatment as warmth with occasional snaps in more sensitive areas — well within the comfortable range.

Do you accommodate patients with busy Princeton work schedules?

Yes. Many of our patients balance demanding schedules from the university, Princeton corporate offices, and professional practices in the area. The three-protocol structure — Pixel Peel, SoftLift, and HyGrid Resurfacing — is designed exactly for this. SoftLift has virtually no downtime, so it fits between a Friday appointment and a Monday meeting. HyGrid Resurfacing is best scheduled around a long weekend or a vacation week. Dr. Suzuki maps out the timing during your consultation so treatment fits your calendar, not the other way around.

How is Alma Hybrid different from a traditional CO₂ laser?

Traditional CO₂ lasers are ablative only — they resurface the top layer with significant downtime, typically a week or more of healing. Alma Hybrid pairs the CO₂ with a non-ablative 1570nm wavelength in the same pass, so you get surface resurfacing and deep collagen remodeling together. The HyGrid ratio control lets us calibrate the intensity and recovery time precisely — something a single-wavelength CO₂ cannot do.

When will I see results?

Initial brightness shows up within two weeks of the treated layer shedding. The deeper collagen remodeling continues quietly for ninety days, with final results photographed at week twelve. Patients often describe the change as a gradual luminance rather than a dramatic shift — friends will notice you look refreshed without quite knowing why.

What does Alma Hybrid cost at Sanctuary?

Pricing varies based on the protocol (Pixel Peel, SoftLift, or HyGrid Resurfacing), the areas treated, and whether IMPACT is included. We do not list per-treatment pricing online because honest pricing depends on your specific plan. The consultation is complimentary and includes a clear, transparent quote.
