Laser Liposuction with BeautiFill in Princeton, NJ

Stubborn pockets of fat that no amount of Princeton gym sessions or towpath miles will move. Skin that has started to soften and lose its definition. Real, lasting body contouring is possible ten minutes from downtown Princeton, without the long hospital recovery of traditional liposuction. BeautiFill removes the fat and tightens the skin in a single in-office visit, performed personally by Dr. Ron Suzuki at Sanctuary Laser in neighboring Pennington. The Platform

One device. Fat removal and skin tightening in the same visit.

BeautiFill by Alma Lasers is a laser-assisted liposuction platform built around a single innovation: a 1470nm radial-emitting laser fiber delivered through a specialized Mercedes cannula. The laser warms and gently dislodges fat cells before they are suctioned out, while simultaneously cauterizing small blood vessels and heating the surrounding tissue to a precise 47 to 50 degrees Celsius.

That heat is what makes BeautiFill different from a conventional liposuction cannula. As the fat is removed, the surrounding skin contracts immediately by roughly 15 to 20 percent. Over the following three to six months, new collagen and elastin continue to form, producing a tightening effect that older liposuction simply could not deliver. The fat is loosened gently rather than torn free, which is why bruising, swelling, and downtime are so much lower than what patients expect from traditional lipo.

The harvested fat is preserved at 90 to 95 percent cell viability, compared to roughly 50 percent with conventional methods. That preservation matters when fat is being transferred to another area such as the face, breasts, or buttocks. With BeautiFill, the cells you move are the cells that stay.

The Applications

Three signature BeautiFill protocols.

From a single problem area to full-body refinement, BeautiFill is structured around three treatment approaches at Sanctuary Laser. Each is calibrated to the area being treated, the volume of fat being removed, and whether the harvested fat is being transferred to another part of the body.

Single Area

Targeted Contour

One problem zone, in and out

A focused session on one stubborn pocket. Common targets include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), inner or outer thighs, upper arms, bra rolls, or the chin and jawline. BeautiFill removes the fat and tightens the overlying skin in the same visit, performed under local anesthesia at our Pennington office.

SculptLift

Contouring with visible skin tightening

A combination protocol that emphasizes the thermal tightening effect alongside fat removal. Suitable for patients who have lost weight or whose skin has begun to soften with age, SculptLift targets areas where mild to moderate laxity has developed alongside stubborn fat. The result is firmer, more defined skin in addition to the contour change.

Harvest & Restore

Remove from one area, restore another

The complete BeautiFill experience. Fat is harvested from a donor area such as the abdomen or flanks at high cellular viability, then carefully transferred to restore volume elsewhere. Common transfer destinations include the face for natural rejuvenation, the breasts for subtle enhancement, or the buttocks for a soft, natural curve. One procedure, two outcomes.

Why It Works

What sets BeautiFill apart from traditional liposuction.

01

1470nm radial-emitting laser

The 1470nm wavelength is absorbed preferentially by fat and water, allowing fat cells to be loosened gently before suction. The radial-emitting fiber distributes energy in a full 360-degree pattern, so treatment is even and tissue trauma is minimized. Traditional liposuction relies entirely on mechanical force.

02

Skin tightening in the same pass

As the laser warms the subcutaneous tissue to 47 to 50 degrees Celsius, collagen fibers contract immediately. The result is roughly 15 to 20 percent skin tightening at the time of treatment, with continued remodeling over the next three to six months. Traditional liposuction often leaves skin looking loose. BeautiFill tightens as it contours.

03

90 to 95 percent fat viability

When harvested fat is being transferred to restore volume elsewhere, cell survival is what determines whether the result lasts. BeautiFill preserves 90 to 95 percent cell viability through its gentle harvesting process, compared to roughly 50 percent with conventional fat transfer methods. The fat we move tends to stay.

04

In-office, local anesthesia

No hospital, no surgery center, no overnight stay. BeautiFill is performed under local anesthesia in our Pennington office. You walk in, and you walk out the same day. The smaller incisions and reduced tissue trauma mean recovery is measured in days rather than weeks.

The Experience

From consultation to contour.

An unhurried three-part journey, so you know exactly what to expect before, during, and after your BeautiFill treatment at Sanctuary Laser.

I · CONSULTATION

Mapping your goals.

A 45-minute visit with Dr. Suzuki. We review your medical history, photograph the areas you would like to address, assess your skin elasticity, discuss whether fat transfer is part of the plan, and determine which protocol fits best. You receive a transparent quote and a realistic conversation about results.

II · THE SESSION

Comfort-first treatment.

The treatment itself is performed under local anesthesia with tumescent infiltration. Once the area is numb, a small cannula (smaller than a pencil tip) is inserted through a 3 to 4 millimeter incision. The laser fiber delivers energy in a 360-degree pattern while fat is gently aspirated. Most areas take 60 to 90 minutes. Patients are awake, comfortable, and able to drive themselves home.

III · RECOVERY

Calibrated recovery.

A compression garment is worn for the first two weeks to support the treated area. Most patients return to desk work within 2 to 3 days, light exercise within a week, and full activity within two to three weeks. Final body contour becomes evident at six to twelve weeks, with the skin tightening effect continuing to improve for up to six months.

Indications

Body concerns BeautiFill addresses.

FDA-cleared for laser-assisted lipolysis and tissue coagulation, BeautiFill is one of the most versatile body contouring platforms in aesthetic medicine. The combination of fat removal, simultaneous skin tightening, and high-viability fat transfer means we can address volume in two places during the same procedure rather than scheduling multiple separate treatments.

Candidacy

Is BeautiFill right for you?

BeautiFill is powerful and versatile, but the right protocol depends on your body, your skin, and your goals. Here is how we think about candidacy.

A strong fit

  • Localized pockets of fat resistant to diet and exercise
  • Stable weight within roughly 10 to 15 pounds of your goal
  • Good to moderate skin elasticity in the treatment area
  • Interest in natural body contouring without general anesthesia
  • Desire for fat transfer with high cellular survival
  • Willingness to follow pre-treatment and post-treatment protocols

Worth waiting

  • Significant skin laxity that would benefit from surgical excision instead
  • Active pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Uncontrolled medical conditions that affect healing
  • Plans for substantial weight loss in the coming months
  • Unable to wear a compression garment during recovery
The Location

Ten minutes from downtown Princeton.

Sanctuary Laser sits at 215 N Main Street in Pennington — roughly ten minutes from Nassau Street and Palmer Square via Route 206 South, and an easy drive from Princeton Junction or the university area. BeautiFill treatments are performed in our dedicated procedure suite under local anesthesia, so you arrive, contour, recover briefly, and are back home in Princeton the same day.

The clinic is simple to reach: take Route 206 south through Lawrenceville, turn onto North Main in Pennington, and you'll find us in a historic building at the quiet north end of town. Free parking sits immediately adjacent to the building — no garages, no meters, no circling the block the way you would near Nassau Street. On a procedure day, that ease matters.

Discretion matters too. Rather than a busy surgical center, BeautiFill at Sanctuary happens in a calm, private setting shared with Sanctuary SMA, our primary and family medicine practice — so your contouring procedure is coordinated by clinicians who know your medical history, a short drive from Princeton but comfortably away from it.

FAQs

Questions, thoughtfully answered.

How many BeautiFill sessions will I need?

For most patients, one session is enough. BeautiFill is designed as a single-procedure treatment that removes fat, tightens the skin, and (optionally) transfers fat to another area in the same visit. A small number of patients with larger treatment areas may benefit from a second session four to six months later. Dr. Suzuki will give you a clear answer during your consultation.

What makes BeautiFill different from traditional liposuction?

Three things. First, the 1470nm laser melts and loosens fat before extraction, which dramatically reduces bruising, swelling, and trauma compared to traditional mechanical liposuction. Second, the same laser tightens the overlying skin during the procedure, an effect traditional lipo cannot deliver. Third, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia in our Pennington office rather than under general anesthesia in a hospital.

What is the fat transfer process and how durable are the results?

When fat is being transferred from one area to another, BeautiFill harvests it at 90 to 95 percent cellular viability, compared to roughly 50 percent with traditional methods. Higher viability means more transferred fat survives and integrates permanently with the surrounding tissue. Properly performed fat transfer with BeautiFill can last for decades, with results that look and feel like your own tissue because they are.

How far is Sanctuary Laser from Princeton?

About ten minutes from downtown Princeton via Route 206 South — take 206 through Lawrenceville and Pennington comes up on your left after roughly six miles. From the Princeton Junction side, plan on fifteen to twenty minutes. Free parking sits directly adjacent to the building, which matters on procedure day: you will want to be dropped off and picked up close to the door, and here that is effortless.

What is the recovery like after BeautiFill?

Most patients return to desk work within two to three days. A compression garment is worn for the first two weeks to support the contour and minimize swelling. Light exercise resumes within a week, and full activity within two to three weeks. Some swelling and firmness in the treated area is normal for the first month. Final body contour becomes fully evident at six to twelve weeks, with continued skin tightening for up to six months.

Is the procedure painful?

The treatment area is fully numbed with tumescent local anesthesia before any laser energy is delivered. With this in place, most patients describe the procedure as pressure and movement without sharp pain. Mild soreness and bruising are normal during the first week of recovery and respond well to over-the-counter pain medication. Patients consistently report that BeautiFill is far more comfortable than they expected.

Can I fit BeautiFill around a Princeton work schedule?

Yes — this is one of the most common questions from our Princeton patients. Because BeautiFill is performed under local anesthesia in our office, there is no hospital stay and no general anesthesia to shake off. Most patients treating a single area schedule the procedure on a Thursday or Friday, rest over the weekend in a compression garment, and are back at a desk early the following week. Dr. Suzuki maps the timing to your calendar during your consultation, including when you can return to the gym.

When can I expect to see the final result?

You will see a noticeable contour change immediately after the procedure, though swelling can obscure it for the first few weeks. The true result becomes clear at six weeks, with refinement continuing through three months. The skin tightening effect continues quietly through the six-month mark as collagen continues to remodel. We typically photograph final results at the twelve-week visit.
